Victorian Permanent Water Saving Rules apply all year round

Monday, January 24th, 2022

Summer is well and truly in swing, we thought it timely to remind everyone that Victorian Permanent Water Savings rules apply all year round.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that we started off summer with all storages filled to capacity. However, as the warmer weather approaches, we’re starting to see a slight drop.

“Last week, from the 15 January to 21 January, South Gippsland Water’s storages recorded 0mm at Lance Creek, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson; 13mm at Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha; 4mm at Deep Creek, which services Foster and 3mm at Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek” he said.

“As the weather gets warmer, and the days get longer, it’s a good time to remind ourselves that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply all year round. Always remember to water your garden between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses. It’s all about keeping a common-sense approach to our water use – so that we can all save water together.”
