Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update
Monday, April 26th, 2021
Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 17 April to 23 April was Lance Creek 12mm, Ruby Creek 10mm, Deep Creek 12mm and Battery Creek 28mm.
South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that even though rainfall decreased slightly over the past week, our reservoirs and creeks are still at good levels.
“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 74 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 59 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 98 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 96 per cent,” he said.
“This week’s rain levels have kept our water storages in good position, however, we need to continue to be mindful that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
