Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 31^st August – 6^th September 2019 was Lance Creek 17mm, Ruby Creek 14mm, Deep Creek 18mm and Battery Creek 13mm.

Total rainfall recorded for the month of August 2019 was Lance Creek 201mm, Ruby Creek 180mm, Deep Creek 177mm and Battery Creek 137mm.

Good rainfall across the region over the month has ensured all four reservoirs are at capacity – Lance Creek 4,200ML, Ruby Creek 1,910ML, Deep Creek 238ML and Battery Creek 122ML.

Even with storages in good shape, South Gippsland Water encourages customers to be wise with their water-use throughout the entire year not only during summer. Permanent Water Saving Rules which are in place across Victoria all year round. The top three rules to remember are:

1) Water between 6pm and 10am

2) Sweep, don’t hose – Hosing hard surfaces such as paths and driveways is not permitted

3) Install trigger nozzles – All outdoor hoses are required to be leak free and fitted with trigger nozzles
