Storage and Rainfall Update
Monday, November 12th, 2018
Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages from 3rd November to 9th November 2018 was Lance Creek 37mm, Ruby Creek 66mm, Coalition Creek 51mm, Deep Creek 49mm, Little Bass 69mm and Battery Creek 40mm.
South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said “With temperatures warming up, some storages have dipped below full capacity. Rain across the district helped some storages lift this past week, however, South Gippsland Water is preparing for a dry summer ahead and is encouraging water efficient behaviour and for people to know and follow Permanent Water Saving Rules”.
Permanent water saving rules are in place all year and are separate from any staged water restrictions South Gippsland Water may need to impose from time to time. They are easy to remember as;
- Water during the cool – between the hours of 6pm and 10am.
- Install trigger nozzles – on all outdoor garden hoses.
- Sweep, don’t hose – don’t waste precious drinking water on cleaning footpaths and patios, use a broom instead.
- Any customers who have questions or concerns regarding their water supply can contact South Gippsland Water’s friendly Customer Service Team on 1300 851 636.
