Alberton Sewerage Scheme Components Delayed

• Connections for Alberton Sewerage Scheme will not commence until late 2014

South Gippsland Water wishes to advise our customers in Alberton that there has been a delay in the delivery of key components for the sewerage system. South Gippsland Water is sourcing the very latest in technology for the pump unit control panels. These new units have been delayed and whilst originally expected to arrive in July, will now arrive in September with installation shortly after. At the start of 2014 South Gippsland Water completed construction of the township reticulation system and transfer main, however, over the winter month’s work on the project has slowed whilst these further components awaited delivery. It is still hoped that construction will be finalised before the end of the year allowing connection to commence in late 2014. Alberton customers will be mailed connection kits and further information explaining the process to connect once connections can begin.

South Gippsland Water will not be finalising the Scheme Contribution amounts or invoicing customers for these until connections can commence, as such, customers should continue to plan for this to occur in late 2014.
