Storage and Rainfall Update

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages from 28th December 2019 to 3rd January 2020 was Lance Creek 3mm, Ruby Creek 3mm, Deep Creek 3mm and Battery Creek 1mm.
South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that, “Storages remain at satisfactory levels as we close out 2019.
“With fire across the country it is timely to consider your own personal fire preparedness. Whilst the South Gippsland region is currently not experiencing the devastation of our neighbours, we would like to remind people to plan for alternate firefighting water sources and energy supplies. In the event of bushfires, the reticulated drinking water supply may not be a reliable water source. If you are not adequately prepared, heed emergency warnings and evacuate early, do not rely on reticulated water supplies”.
