Storage and Rainfall Update
Monday, August 13th, 2018
Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages from 4th August – 10th August 2018 was Lance Creek 11mm, Ruby Creek 17mm, Coalition Creek 18mm, Deep Creek 11mm, Little Bass 13mm and Battery Creek 20mm.
South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said “The past week has seen lower rainfall totals, however storages have continued to recover.”
“The Ruby Creek system, which supplies Leongatha and surrounds, is still being closely monitored as this system has been slower to respond. Following last week’s rainfall, it is now sitting at 78% capacity”.
With works continuing to forge ahead on the Lance Creek Water Connection, South Gippsland Water is preparing for changes to water supply, changes in disinfection process (chloramination) for Korumburra and fluoridation for customers in Korumburra, Poowong, Loch and Nyora.
On completion of the project, water distributed by the Lance Creek Water Treatment Plant will be chloraminated and fluoridated to ensure customers are supplied with drinking water that meets world-class standards and Department of Health regulations.
Any customers who have questions or concerns regarding their water supply can contact South Gippsland Water’s friendly Customer Service Team on 1300 851 636.
