Storage and Rainfall Update
Monday, March 5th, 2018
Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages from 23rd February 2018 – 2nd March 2018 was Lance Creek 0mm, Ruby Creek 7mm, Coalition Creek 4mm, Deep Creek 2mm, Little Bass 3mm and Battery Creek 5mm.
Philippe du Plessis, Managing Director for South Gippsland Water said, “Supplementary water supplies have been activated for Tarra River Supply System, due to low river flows and Coalition Creek due to low storage levels. With Korumburra’s reservoirs at just over half-full (56%), the Corporation is preparing for activating Water Restrictions for Korumburra in the coming weeks”.
All customers are encouraged to ensure that they are following the Permanent Water Saving Rules, which are low level restrictions on the use of drinking water in the home and garden. The top 3 to remember are:
1) Water during the cool – Between 6pm and 10am.
2) Sweep, don’t hose – Hosing hard surfaces such as paths and driveways is not permitted.
3) Install trigger nozzles – All outdoor hoses are required to be leak free and fitted with trigger nozzles”.
Any customers who have questions or concerns regarding their water supply can contact South Gippsland Water’s friendly Customer Service Team on 1300 851 636.
