Forecast Rain Welcome
Monday, April 20th, 2015
Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages from the 11th April to 17th April 2015 was Lance Creek 4mm, Ruby Creek 5mm, Coalition Creek 9mm, Deep Creek 0mm, Little Bass 9mm and Battery Creek 0mm.
South Gippsland Water continues to look for rainfall in the Little Bass catchment area. Managing Director, South Gippsland Water, Philippe du Plessis said, “Dry conditions last week lead to little run off in the lead up to Friday’s reservoir level reading. Forecast rain over the weekend and coming week will be welcome. The Little Bass Water Supply System remains close to Stage 1 water restrictions being required. As such, all customers of Poowong, Loch & Nyora are being reminded to ensure that water saving practices are being followed”.
Mr du Plessis went on to point out that, “There is currently a Cash Back program available for Poowong, Loch and Nyora customers. The program, as part of the new sewer scheme, provides customers with Cash Back for purchasing or installing new water efficient products and appliances. This program is specifically designed to help reduce the amount of wastewater generated for treatment, as well as reducing demand on drinking water supplies”.
The Cash Back program is only available to customers in Poowong, Loch and Nyora and includes offers for new dual flush toilets, water saving showerheads and rainwater tanks connected to the toilet and laundry. Residents of Poowong, Loch & Nyora who want more information, the full terms and conditions, or to take up a Cash Back offer, should visit www.sgwater.com.au/cashback.
The Living Victoria Rebates are still available for all other townships; to assist with installing water saving devices, visit www.sgwater.com.au/residential/living-victoria-rebate for more information.
